Future home of our.net, a cooperative internet something provider. I haven't figured out what the something is going to be, but it will at least be a place to host virtual domains, as well as just plain email accounts.

The basic premise of a cooperative company is that the clients are the owners, and that costs are shared based on usage. Some of the ideas that I hope to include into our.net are:

• The total number of users will be limited, and can only be increased by a vote of the current members.
• System resources (disk, memory, bandwidth, etc) will be controlled by the membership. Fees can only be increased by a vote of the members.
• Membership will only be available to people who are sponsored by already existing members. Support of new members will be the responsibility of the sponsors.
• No explicit bandwidth or usage limitations, but completely open logging. I hope this will allow people to use what they need, as well as be able to find out who might be abusing the system.
